The Baraza Kuu ya Waislamu wa Tanzania (BAKWATA) serves as the central governing body for Islamic affairs in Tanzania, providing spiritual guidance, educational resources, and community services to Muslims across the nation.
Established under the Trustees Incorporation Ordinance, BAKWATA operates as a non-political, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Islamic values while fostering national unity and development.
